Trim Levels

The 2017 Hyundai Sonata offers six different trim levels: SE, Eco, Sport, Sport 2.0T, Limited, and Limited 2.0T. You'll find several similarities between these trim levels, as well as some notable differences. All trim levels have the same exterior dimensions, with a wheelbase of 110.4 inches, a length of 191.1 inches, a width of 73.4 inches, and a height of 58.1 inches.

As you're considering the exterior features, keep in mind that many are the same across all models. For example, all trim levels feature dual fold-away heated power body-color side mirrors, center high-mount stop light, and chrome window-belt molding. Optional features that are only available on select models include a rear diffuser, a hands-free smart trunk, HID xenon headlights with dynamic bending light, and LED tail lights.

Engine

There are four engine types available on the 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The SE, Sport, and Limited feature a 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve I4 engine, which gets 185 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. On the Eco, you'll get a 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve twin-scroll turbo I4 engine, getting 178 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. If you choose the Sport 2.0T or the Limited 2.0T, you'll get a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve twin-scroll turbo I4 engine that gets 245 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.

Performance

All trim levels come standard with front wheel drive. They also feature a drive mode select, allowing you to custom tailor your driving experience. The Eco offers a seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission with SHIFTRONIC, while all other trims feature a six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC.

Interior

Make your ride perfect with the variety of comfort and entertainment features inside the car. On select trims, you can get a power tilt-and-slide sunroof to brighten your car and make it feel more open. All models offer a variety of comfort features such as air conditioning, 60/40 split fold-down rear seatbacks, and steering wheel-mounted controls for audio and cruise control.

The Sonata comes standard with a sound system featuring SiriusXM, MP3 player, and AM/FM radio. This sound system comes with six speakers. However, select models offer a nine-speaker premium audio system featuring an external amplifier and subwoofer. On all models except the Limited 2.0T, you'll get a 7-inch color touchscreen for the audio system, and with the Limited 2.0T you'll get an 8-inch touchscreen system.

Safety Features

Staying safe on the road is important. All models of the 2017 Hyundai Sonata come with a rearview camera, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability management system, traction control, brake assist, and advanced dual front airbags with occupant classification system. The SE, Eco, Sport, and Sport 2.0T come with a driver's blind spot mirror, while the Limited and Limited 2.0T feature blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist. Other optional safety features include smart cruise control with start/stop capability, rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking.
